Equal Employment Opportunity

It is Amgen’s policy to ensure that all U.S. Amgen staff members comply with federal, state and local legislation, government regulations, and Executive Orders regulating affirmative action and equal opportunity in employment in order to provide a work environment that meets the highest standards of equal opportunity. It is Amgen’s policy to hire, train, promote, compensate, transfer and administer all employment practices without unlawfully discriminating on the basis of sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), race, ancestry, age, religion, color, sexual orientation, ethnicity, covered veteran status, national origin, disability, or any other basis prohibited under applicable law. It is also the Company’s policy to comply with applicable legal requirements concerning reasonable accommodations for religious beliefs or practices and for persons with covered disabilities. Please refer to the current Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Policy for additional details regarding the policy and the obligations of individuals subject to the policy.

In addition, Amgen maintains outreach programs covering minorities, women, individuals with disabilities, veterans of the Vietnam War Era and other covered campaigns, and disabled veterans, which have been adopted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Any Amgen staff member who suspects unlawful discrimination should immediately contact Amgen’s AA/EEO Compliance Senior Manager at (805) 447-1999 or an Area Human Resources Manager. Staff members may also contact the Business Conduct Hotline or the Ombudsperson (see the “Where to Turn for Help or Report Concerns” section for contact information). All supervisors and managers who are contacted about possible discrimination should immediately notify their Area Human Resources Manager, Amgen’s AA/EEO Compliance Senior Manager about the matter at (805) 447-1999. Staff members who raise good faith complaints about unlawful discrimination will not be subjected to retaliation.

Similar laws against discrimination apply in countries other than the U.S. Individuals are instructed to the policies in effect at their location to request guidance from their supervisor, the compliance representative with responsibility for their geographic area, the EU Director of Compliance, or the Chief Compliance Officer as appropriate.
