The Company is committed to maintaining an environment free of workplace violence. Therefore, offensive, threatening or violent behavior, whether verbal or physical, will not be tolerated. Amgen strictly prohibits possession of firearms or weapons of any kind on Company premises (including vehicles parked on Company property), at off-premises Company events, or while on Company business. The examples of unacceptable conduct provided here are not intended as an exhaustive list. Please refer to the current General Business Conduct Policy and the Policy Against Workplace Violence for additional details regarding the obligations of individuals subject to those policies.

Other conduct that is prohibited because of its detrimental effect on the work environment includes use, distribution, possession or sale of illegal drugs or other controlled substances not prescribed for approved medical purposes. In addition, staff members may not be on Amgen premises, in Amgen vehicles, or perform work for Amgen if they are under the influence of illegal drugs, controlled substances used for non-medical purposes, or alcohol. The examples of unacceptable conduct provided here are not intended as an exhaustive list. Please refer to the current Human Resources policies and procedures related to alcohol and drug use for additional details regarding the obligations of individuals subject to those policies.

If you are aware of a situation that you believe may be a violation of the standards described in this section or in relevant Amgen policies, you should immediately report the situation to Security and Emergency Services operated 24 hours a day, seven days a week by dialing (805) 447-3188. You may also contact the Business Conduct Hotline or the Ombudsperson (see the “Where to Turn for Help or Report Concerns” section for contact information).

Similar restrictions apply in countries other than the U.S. Individuals are instructed to the policies in effect at their location to request guidance from their supervisor, the compliance representative with responsibility for their geographic area, the EU Director of Compliance, or the Chief Compliance Officer as appropriate.
