
2005 EPA WasteWise Award, Staff Education Gold Achievement Award for its role in collecting more than 1,306 tons of recyclable materials and for preventing an additional 12,255 tons of construction waste from entering the waste stream.
2006 and 2005 King County Gold Awards for perfect compliance in industrial wastewater disposal at Amgen Bothell in Washington state. To win the award, a company must have discharged wastewater during a minimum of twelve months of the calendar year from at least one of its sites and have no violations of any kind (discharge, permit, ordinance, reporting, self-monitoring, or King County monitoring).

2005 City of Boulder Perfect Wastewater Compliance Award, for perfect compliance. Awards were presented to facilities that had no violations of their Industrial Wastewater Discharge Permit during 2005. According to the City, Amgen demonstrated “outstanding compliance for timely reporting, no effluent violation, and excellent compliance audit findings.”
2005 BEST (Businesses for Environmentally Sustainable Tomorrow) Award at Amgen campus in Seattle Washington, for energy conservation practices that will reduce annual consumption by more than 500,000 kWh.
2005 California Community Colleges Award for Excellence in donating excess supplies and equipment in the support of science in local schools.
2003 City of Thousand Oaks WasteWatch Award for outstanding achievements in Waste Reduction/Reuse. The WasteWatch Awards program recognizes businesses and nonprofit organizations for taking steps to manage their waste, conserve energy, reduce air/water pollution, and make purchases in an environmentally responsible manner.
2002 EPA WasteWise Large Business Honorable Mention award for demonstrating a commitment to municipal solid waste reduction.
