Amgen Foundation Commits $100,000 to the Australia Flood Disaster Relief Efforts
At the start of the New Year, Queensland, Australia, experienced one of the most devastating floods on record. Three river systems spilled out across an area equivalent to the joint land mass of France and Germany. The flood has affected 200,000 people, with ten lives lost so far, and 40 towns isolated or partially under water.

The Amgen Foundation has committed $100,000 to the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal. The Queensland Government has set up the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal and is taking the lead on relief and recovery efforts. At the government’s request, the Australian Red Cross will distribute the funds raised by the Appeal to flood victims.

Our deepest sympathies go out to all communities left devastated by the floods. To learn more about the Queensland floods and the relief and recover efforts underway, please visit the Australian Red Cross website.
