
Denosumab has received the 2011 U.S. Prix Galien Award for best biotechnology product. The Prix Galien Award is considered the industry’s highest accolade, and recognizes the technical, scientific and clinical research skills necessary to develop innovative medicines and devices. Amgen is honored to receive this award for the second year in a row after Nplate® received the award in 2010.
Prix Galien was first established in 1970 by French pharmacist Roland Mehl and was inaugurated in the United States in September 2007. The USA award committee comprises 11 individuals including Nobel Laureates, founders of other major biotech companies and editors of world-renowned biology journals.
