FDA Posts Early Communication about the Use of Epoetin Alfa for Potential Neuroprotective Effects

The early communication can be found on FDA’s web site.

Amgen is not supporting or sponsoring any clinical studies of erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) use in the area of neuroprotection. We have not found evidence of widespread use of ESAs for neuroprotection.
