Work has its perks for staff employed at Amgen—and it shows. Amgen leapt from last year’s No. 20 ranking to the No. 3 spot on Business Insider’s just released annual list of the best companies to work for in America . When looking specifically at the best companies in healthcare to work for, Amgen ranked No. 1.
The list is based on exclusive data from the employer-information website PayScale , which calculated scores for the companies using six criteria: high job satisfaction, low job stress, ability to telecommute, high job meaning, experienced median pay/total cash compensation, and salary delta.
Data used for the list was collected from employees who completed PayScale's employee survey. PayScale surveyed employees in the US (not including territories such as Puerto Rico or Guam) who work at companies that appeared on the 2014 Fortune 500 list .
Amgen continues to stand apart as a much sought after employer with its career, pay, and benefits package for staff members, which includes competitive base pay and bonus opportunities, industry-leading benefits, an outstanding work environment and opportunities for career development.
The survey data clearly affirmed Amgen’s belief that our company is a place where we can make a positive difference in people's lives. When asked if their work makes the world a better place, 84 percent of staff members reported “high job meaning” at the company.
