Listen to NPR’s Coverage of the Amgen Biotech Experience

Local NPR-KCLU reporter, Debra Green recently visited a local classroom to see an Amgen Foundation-funded program, the Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE), in action at Newbury Park High School.

ABE is an innovative science education program that provides teacher professional development, curriculum materials, and research-grade equipment and supplies to secondary schools. Each year, over 75,000 students participate in this program, and the program has reached more than 600,000 students to date across the U.S., Puerto Rico, Ireland and U.K.

By helping students make the connection between a pipette in the classroom and the life-saving drugs that biotech scientists discover, ABE aims to excite and inspire future scientists with their potential to change the world.
