Eligibility Criteria
Complete application packages MUST be RECEIVED at least 60 days prior to:
  • the requestor’s deadline for Amgen response (i.e. date decision is needed)
  • the required funding date for acknowledgment of Amgen support (i.e. logos, brochures, enduring material deadline)
  • the program date 
      
    Note: If your complete application package (consisting of online application form and supporting documentation) does not meet the 60 day requirement, your request will be rejected.
  • All donation applications are evaluated and processed without the involvement of the Amgen sales department.
  • Any requests regarding proceedings from a meeting or congress (e.g., ASH Highlights, ASCO Highlights) need to be received at least 60 days prior to the actual meeting date.

Approval Guidelines

  • If your donation application is approved for funding, you will receive written confirmation of approval from Amgen.
  • Only funding decisions communicated in writing by Amgen are valid.
  • Please do not assume that an application has been approved unless written confirmation from Amgen has been received.
  • Please be advised that even if your application is approved, Amgen may not be able to fund the entire original request amount.

Notice to Applicants

  • Qualified recipients are: hospitals, universities, patient groups, and organizations exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code Sections 501(c) (3), (charities), 501(c) (4) (social welfare organizations), and 501(c) (6) (trade and professional associations).
  • Donations cannot be paid to individuals, physicians, or physician groups.
  • Applications must meet one of the following purposes: (a) to advance medicine and health care (b) to promote healthcare professional education or serve another genuine educational function; (c) to educate the public on disease states and medical conditions; or (d) other genuine philanthropic and charitable purposes that ultimately benefit patients.
  • Funding may not be linked, directly or indirectly, to an agreement to use, prescribe, recommend or refer for Amgen products.
  • Applications must be compliant with applicable laws, PhRMA Code, AMA, FDA, ACCME, OIG, and Amgen Standards.
  • Healthcare professionals cannot receive travel, registration fee/expense assistance from Amgen to attend educational programs, except institutions for healthcare professionals in training (i.e. fellows, residents, interns or nursing students).
  • Applications should be for programs based in the United States.
  • Applications must be submitted and approved prior to date of event.
  • Approval/Denial of application will be communicated directly to the requestor.
  • If approved, a Letter of Agreement (LOA) will be sent to the requestor for signature.
  • If approved, Amgen has right to publish the donation on its website or other written material.
  • Donation requests cannot be in excess of the anticipated costs of the charitable activity (by itself, or in combination with other expected sources of financial support from third parties).
  • Donation requests cannot underwrite ordinary operating expenses of a qualified recipient. Requestors will be asked to provide a detailed budget to support request.
