Amgen’s Corporate Responsibility Efforts Recognized by Dow Jones Sustainability Indices

Amgen ranked among the top biotech companies in corporate responsibility with its inclusion on the 2019 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) World Index for the sixth year in a row. Amgen was also included on the DJSI North America Index for the seventh consecutive year.

Earning a place alongside the world’s most sustainable companies demonstrates Amgen’s ongoing commitments to bringing life-saving therapies to patients, while also being a good steward of the company’s employees, communities and the environment around the world.

“Amgen’s inclusion in the DJSI World Index for the sixth year in a row is recognition of our continued progress in advancing corporate responsibility across a wide range of programs,” said Eduardo Cetlin, Executive Director, Corporate Philanthropy and Responsibility.

The 2019 DJSI evaluated the world’s 2,500 largest companies, with 318 earning a place on the World Index. Amgen was one of only four biotech companies to make the World Index, and one of three to land a spot on the North America Index.

“From the Board of Directors to our cross-functional executive management governance of corporate responsibility and our front-line staff, we are all committed to ensuring that Amgen’s contribution to society goes beyond making life-saving medicines to also positively impacting the communities in which we live and work,” Cetlin said. “We believe that placement on the DJSI World Index shows that we are on the right path.”
