Dr. James “Jay” Bradner joined Amgen in 2023 and serves as Executive Vice President, Research and Development, Artificial Intelligence and Data at Amgen. He is responsible for advancing Amgen's pipeline, which includes potential first-in-class or best-in-class medicines in all stages of development across the company's four therapeutic areas of focus: oncology, inflammation, general medicine and rare disease, in addition to biosimilars.

Dr. Bradner brings deep scientific expertise and a strong technology perspective to the role. Before joining Amgen, he was at the forefront of applying emerging technologies to biomedical research and has continued that work at Amgen through close collaboration across science, technology, and data.

Dr. Bradner plays a central role in shaping how scientific innovation, computing, data science, and research come together to improve outcomes for patients and help Amgen fight the world’s toughest diseases.

Dr. Bradner is a graduate of Harvard College and the University of Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency in Medicine at Brigham & Women's Hospital, his fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at the Dana-Farber Harvard Cancer Center, and his postdoctoral training in Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University.
