Robert Lewis is senior vice president, Strategy. He is responsible for shaping the company’s strategy and the planning needed to achieve its long-term growth objectives in a rapidly evolving environment for biology, medicine and technology.

Prior to joining Amgen, Lewis spent 32 years at McKinsey & Company, where he advised organizations on strategy, operations, organizational effectiveness and large-scale transformation. During his tenure, he led performance improvement and operational excellence programs across a wide range of sectors, including life sciences and private equity. He also served as global leader of McKinsey Implementation, helping organizations strengthen execution capabilities and deliver long-term value creation.

Before joining McKinsey, Lewis worked in product development and plant engineering at Procter & Gamble.

Lewis holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University.
