Thomas Dittrich became executive vice president and chief financial officer in September 2026. He previously held senior finance leadership roles at Amgen from 2006 to 2014.

Dittrich rejoined Amgen in mid-2026 from Galderma, where he served as chief financial officer beginning in 2019 and oversaw global finance, strategic sourcing, information technology, investor relations, ESG, corporate strategy and a company-wide transformation program. He helped lead Galderma from its private equity-led carve-out through its initial public offering in 2024.

Previously, Dittrich was chief financial officer and an executive member of the board of directors at Shire. Before joining Shire, he served as chief financial officer and a member of the executive committee at Sulzer AG, where he also served as interim chief executive officer in 2015.

During his previous eight years at Amgen, Dittrich served as vice president, Finance, Corporate Planning and chief accounting officer and, previously, as vice president, Finance for Amgen International. Earlier in his career, he held finance and general management positions at Dell and worked in mergers and acquisitions and management consulting.

Dittrich holds a Master of Science in mechanical engineering and robotics from the Technical University of Munich and a master’s degree in finance, controlling and accounting from the University of St. Gallen.
