As 2025 winds to a close, everyone at Amgen is taking a moment to reflect on the company's incredible accomplishments from the past 12 months. In April, Amgen marked its 45th anniversary, and it was a great opportunity to reflect on the journey that took Amgen from a small start-up to one of the largest independent biotech companies fighting some of the world's toughest diseases.

Deepening U.S. Investments
When it comes to investments in U.S.-based innovation and expansions across its Operations network, Amgen went big in 2025.
The year kicked off with the ribbon cutting of a new manufacturing facility at Amgen North Carolina, while also breaking ground on a $1 billion expansion at the site. Months later, Amgen Ohio broke ground on a $900 million manufacturing expansion. Amgen also announced a $650 million investment in Puerto Rico to construct and support new facilities for the increased production of biologic medicines.
At Amgen's headquarters in the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks, California, the company broke ground on a $600 million investment for a new center for science and innovation to further foster collaboration between scientists, researchers and engineers.
Amgen has a long history as an industry leader in U.S. biomanufacturing, and the company is investing heavily to continue growing its U.S. footprint. Pro-growth tax policies made possible by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and made permanent in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, have enabled Amgen to invest $40 billion in U.S. innovation and manufacturing since 2018.
Amgen broke ground on a new state-of-the-art center for science and innovation at the company's global headquarters in October 2025.
Employees Engaging with Amgen's Mission
At Amgen's annual Mission Week event, thousands of staff around the world joined panel events in person and online to meet and hear powerful stories from real patients about what it's like living with serious illnesses. The event offered employees a welcome opportunity to pause, reflect, and feel reenergized by the work they do in support of Amgen's mission to serve patients.

Reaching More Patients
Throughout the year, Amgen achieved a number of approvals and label expansions for medicines across key therapy areas, including Oncology, Rare Disease, Cardiovascular Disease, and Inflammation.
Amgen presented new data addressing one of the nation's most significant public health issues—cardiovascular disease—with each new insight helping to optimize cholesterol management and improve outcomes for millions of patients.
Amgen also expanded access and affordability to more patients through AmgenNow™, a direct-to-patient program that offers certain Amgen medicines to U.S. cash-paying patients at discounted prices.
Supporting Communities
For too many, 2025 was a year marked by natural disasters, especially near Amgen's headquarters in Greater Los Angeles. When wildfires burned more than 50,000 acres across the region, including the homes of Amgen employees, Amgen and the Amgen Foundation supported the community with $10 million donated for disaster relief.
The Amgen Foundation renewed its support for the Amgen Scholars Program, providing research opportunities in biotech to thousands of undergraduate students, and continuing its long history of supporting science education for the next generation of innovators. And for Giving Tuesday, Amgen employees in the U.S. and Puerto Rico took advantage of the Amgen Foundation's double-match program to donate more than $5 million to around 2,000 nonprofits in 24 hours.
Amgen also closed out 2025 by being named the Official Biotech Partner by Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission (LASEC) ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026™. LASEC and the Los Angeles World Cup 2026 Host Committee will collaborate with Amgen to amplify community health and legacy programs in Greater Los Angeles ahead of the games in the Greater Los Angeles area in the coming year.

Corporate Recognition
Success speaks for itself, but recognition matters too. In 2025, Forbes included Amgen on its 2025 list of America's Best Large Employers, and Amgen once again earned a spot on Fortune's list of the World's Most Admired Companies. Additionally, Newsweek included Amgen among its 2025 World's Greenest Companies.
Amgen's achievements this year reflect the tangible outcomes of the dedication and collaboration of teams across the company. Everyone at Amgen is proud and deeply thankful for these contributions and can't wait to see what 2026 brings.
